Adventus Oblivious - Day 18 - The Bobby McGee's - Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart and the Very Next Day You Sold It on Ebay

Nothing more festive than giving someone a gift, much less a HEART, then seeing it listed on eBay the next day! The Bobby McGee's giving us all the festive cheer on this track originally released in 2007 on the 3rd edition of Cherryade Records' annual Xmas compilation "A Very Cherry Christmas 3"!

Adventus Oblivious - Day 17 - Siouxsie and the Banshees - Il est né, le divin enfant

One of Rockyboo's favorite holiday tracks to share, Siouxsie and the Banshees interpretation of "Il est né, le divin enfant". The track was originally released as the b-side to their 1982 single "Melt" and later on their 2004 B-sides/Rarities release "Downside Up"!!
And if you didn't hear, Siouxsie is playing her first live show in 10 years at next year's Latitude Festival!

Taken from their 1993 set at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas, here is Violent Femmes rushed cover of "Holly Jolly Christmas" and I LOVE IT! I wanted to post this one back in 2012 but there was no record of it online! Here in 2012, I was only able to find a bootleg recording of their set. I've always had the track in my collection, so I decided to finally place it on the YouTube so EVERYONE can enjoy it!!
You can also hear it on the Kevin & Bean Xmas cassette comp "No Toys for OJ", released back in '94!

Adventus Oblivious - Day 14 - Nixon / Sally Shapiro - Anorak Christmas

What's better than an indie pop track with Christmas in the title done by one of the finest Swedish twee/indie/bedroom pop stars of the early 2000's?? I'll tell you! It's when another awesome Swedish pop band comes along and gives it an amped up synth/italo disco POP! cover! So here is "Anorak Christmas" done TWO ways! First the original by Nixon, followed by Sally Shapiro's superb cover! Of note, Roger Gunnarson of Nixon has written plenty of tracks featured on Sally Shapiro albums and Sally Shapiro has covered two amazing Nixon songs!
