Ava Vox - Heart of Good Intention / Crash

I was going to listen to that new Ava Max album that's been popping up all over, but my brain "accidentally" typed Ava Vox instead and I was pleasanly surprised to discover this "new" artist!
Ava Vox is from Ireland and played in 80's goth band, The Seventh Veil. She is now a solo artist and released her debut album "Immortalised" last March. It's full of delightful post-punk, goth-pop, alternative tunes. It even includes three covers by influential acts The Cure, David Bowie, and Soft Cell/Gloria Jones.
Here are a couple of my favorites!

Kommun - Let Me Go

Way before I started Ooberus Oblivious, I was compiling my year-end best of lists. I recently found my 2009 best songs list which I split up into three awesome themed playlists. This track from Swedish indie group Kommun's only album "Kommun" has been stuck in my head for 2 weeks!

Named after a Piano Magic track from "Disaffected", Theory of Ghosts is the newest project from Piano Magic's very own Glen Johnson & Franck Alba, plus drummer Robert Hervais-Adelman. They've just released their gorgeous debut "EP1" and I highly recommend you check them out!

Hunky Dory - It's Love

Another amazing oldie but goodie! This time it's from Hunky Dory, an irresistibly cute children's group from the 80's. Initially signed to él records / Cherry Red, the group ended up getting dropped before releasing their debut! Recorded in the late 80's, their only album, "Over the Rainbow", finally saw light of day when legendary indie label Siesta thankfully did so in 2002! It's full of joyous and sweet indie pop numbers just like this one, my favorite track!

Misha - Weatherbees

Don't have anything new for you today so for today's flashback, here's my 2nd favorite song from 2007! "Weatherbees" by NY band Misha starts nicely and just builds and builds to complete indie pop perfection and I LOVE IT! The track is from their 2007 album "Teardrop Sweetheart". The band returned with a sophomore album almost a decade later with "All We Will Become" (2016). We haven't heard from them since, but this track always makes me feel so good and will always be a dream to me!
