They Might Be Giants - Tesla

This is quite the awesome (and very long) video for TMBG song "Tesla"!  It has a bunch of great remixes, with each remix getting its own mini-video within the entire 23-plus minute video!  TMBG recently released a new compilation called "Idlewild" and "Tesla" is on it!

Be Forest - Captured Heart

I'd heard Be Forest about a month ago through Bandcamp and meant to check them out further, but that first listen happened when I'd first woken up and they had since slipped my mind.  Until today!  They released their debut album "Earthbeat" in February.

Shura - Touch

All I see when watching this new Shura video is that damn "strangers kissing" video but that doesn't detract from the overall loveliness that is this song!!

Jinkx Monsoon - Coffee & Wine

RuPaul's Drag Race is truly producing some talent with its recent winners, as can be seen here by the amazing Jinkx Monsoon and her new single "Coffee & Wine"!  I recently saw Jinkx in Return to Grey Gardens with Peaches Christ and Jinkx truly stole the show.  Such a great voice!  Such a great talent!  I will definitely be looking forward to her debut album.

My Maggie and I attended the record release party for Northern State's 2007 album "Can I Keep This Pen?".  When I bought the CD, I got a complimentary pen with the album title etched on.  I still see that pen wandering around my apartment now.  We also took some super cute photo booth pictures, which I would post if I could find...

This song reminds me more of Chicago and how much I hated spending my 25th birthday there, alone...but also how we never actually made it to New York on that ill-fated road trip.  There was some crazy storm at the time anyway, so it's probably for the best.  The vocals on this track are too sweet!

I witnessed the awesomeness that is Tayisha Busay during my first visit to NYC, before Sister Oblivious had even moved there!  I went with Sexy Swiss Miss Pilar & Kevin and pals and every time this crazy song pops in my head, I get transported back to that tiny Brooklyn alley bar!!
