Regina - Soita mulle - The Trilogy

My favorite Finnish band Regina have just aired the final part of a trilogy of videos from their latest album "Soita mulle". The album is gorgeous and lush and full of pop mastery. They chose three of the highlights from the album, concluding with my favourite track. The videos are as beautiful as the music, with a home-made feel, shot in what I'm assuming is a Finnish lake(sea?)side somewhere. It's absolutely beautiful wherever it is, suiting the music perfectly. The latter two have a rather voyeuristic bent.

Pushy Parents are Swedish. Pushy Parents includes the prolific Roger Gunnarsson from Nixon, Cloetta Paris, Free Loan Investments, Intellivision, amongst others!

Bachelorette

Just saw the lovely Bachelorette open for the magnificent Magnetic Fields. She was the perfect choice and definitely the best opener they've ever had in the times I've seen them. She's from New Zealand, has three albums to her name and the two videos below are taken from her self-titled 3rd album!

Can't believe I'm just seeing this for the first time. Cazwell & Peaches!! This is what you get when you stick two dirty dirty electro musicians: Dancy beats, drag queens, and sexy sexy!! This was released in November last year as a one-off single. They should do more!

Do you miss Broadcast?? Cue "Rituals" by Death and Vanilla from their just released self-titled debut, "Death and Vanilla". This is all kinds of psychedelic pop mastery. I love the halfway point when it kicks it into "high gear"! I already ordered my very limited edition CD...did you??

Giana Factory

So I've just discovered Danish group Giana Factory and I am now in love. Why does happen to me so often?? "Rainbow Girl", taken from their debut album "Save the Youth" (2010), is sheer pop glittery loveliness!! Shimmy shimmy glitter pop!

Frida Hyvönen's got a new album coming out this year too, and based on this first single, I am most excited to hear it. The album is called "To the Soul" and this first single is called "Terribly Dark"...and actually, this video makes her look terribly crazy!! woooooooooooooo, love it!

Sissy Wish - She's a Star

Finally, it looks like Sissy Wish's new album "Happy Monster" is going to be out this year...I hope!! She's now released three singles from said album and the 3rd "She's a Star" has a lovely video attached. (You can also hear another new song "Your Bro", here! It's fun!

To Be With Others

Chinawoman has released a new single/video combo!! Very exciting. The song is dark, lovely and centers around fulfilling one's "extra-marital needs"! Oh my! While she's trying to justify what she's doing throughout the song (and looks pretty happy about it in the beginning), you still hear that lingering regret and see it by the end of the video. Beautiful...

Chairlift - Met Before

Chairlift's excellent sophomore album "Something" is full of pop mastery...here's one of the more rockin' tracks, now with an awesome INTERACTIVE(!!!!) music video!! It's totally like my "Final Destination 3" DVD!! You get to choose where the video goes next! So freakin' cool! I will be playing with this for some time...fun!!

Heartbreaker feat. Lovefoxxx

I don't know who Steve Aoki is but I do quite love this simple pop ditty of his, mainly due to the video and the fact that one of my all-time favourite leading ladies, Lovefoxxx, is the star of the song! Roller-skating + plus people exploding into confetti shreds! Love!!

Ferns

Ferns are a super cute indie/twee pop band from Malaysia. This is their first official music video, all hand-made...showing some very cute little creatures battling back against evil industrialization...with SEED BOMBS!! Cute! Love!
