Oh so sad, we are leaving Mexico today! Now I must post a song that makes my list of "saddest songs of all time"! Elysian Fields' second album "Queen of the Meadow" is one of their best to this day. This song makes me all sorts of emotional every time I hear it.

Here's another tribute to my SisMiss Crys! She introduced me to The Dears back in 2000 after she saw them open for someone at The Troubadour! I was immediately enamored by their orchestral chamber alt pop magic and love them to this day! Murray A Lightburn's voice has always given me the feels! This is from their excellent debut album "End of a Hollywood Bedtime Story"!

Such a great song from The Tear Garden! My all-time fave of theirs, it's the lead track from their 2000 album "Crystal Mass". And since I'm in Mexico with my sis Crystal, this seems fitting!

We're on our way to Mexico today in honor of Mama & Papa Oblivious' 50th wedding anniversary later this year!
Here's an appropriate love song for the lovebirds from The 6th's second album "Hyacinths and Thistles"! And if you didn't already know, The 6ths were one of Stephin Merritt's (of Magnetic Fields fame) side projects in which he invited some of his favorite vocalists to perform songs he'd written. Gloriousness all around!

Heavenly Goes West!

EXCITING NEWS!! Heavenly, who earlier this year announced a couple NY dates in May/June, have just announced four WEST COAST dates in October! As you are well aware, I traveled to London last year for their first reunion shows and it was as magical as you can imagine. The band sounded amazing and never missed a beat. Tickets are on sale for all shows this Friday (but arrive late so I can get mine first!)
Opening for three of the West coast dates is Amelia and Rob's new super-group Swansea Sound! Sad they're not opening in LA, but all you other shows will be in for a treat!
