Wallenberg – Dark Cabaret

Wallenberg is an Italian transplant in Sweden.  She makes delicious synth pop.  Her debut EP "Red in the House of White" was one of my top of 2010!  She released a couple singles last year and this is her newest released just a couple weeks ago.  Please please please make more!!!

I'm such a horrible person!  Name the Pet released her new album "Future / Now" in February and I just found out about it this week thanks to my awesome sister!  She's slowed the pop down but it's still pop and it's still great!!  Check it out now!!

Donny Benét & Geoffrey O'Connor - Charlotte's Web

I'm not exactly sure who Donny Benét is, but this collab sounds completely like a Geoffrey O'Connor song and therefore it is brilliant!! Donny just released his third album "Weekend at Donny's".

Puro Instinct - 6 of Swords

New music from Puro Instinct!!  They are working on their new album and this track gives me high hopes for more dreamy synth excellence!

Violent Femmes - I Held Her in My Arms

I did say there were two reasons for attending Riot Fest and here is No. 2:  VIOLENT FEMMES!!!  They're playing later today!  Violent Femmes were my favorite band from high school through much of college.  Their debut album is perfection still.  It has been over a decade since I last saw them live and it was magical then and every time before then.  Already knowing that they've been playing their essential debut album in its entirety sends shivers throughout my body.  There's one song from that album that I've never seen performed ("Please Do Not Go") and I am going to go gaga when it happens!
I don't know if they'll be playing this amazing song below but this is one of my all-time favourites and I will scream if they do!!!
I'm getting chills just typing this posting...EEEEEEEEEK!!!

The Cure - From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea (Live)

Today, the staff of Ooberus Oblivious is in Denver, CO for Riot Fest!  Two things brought us here, the first being The Cure!  I haven't seen a non-themed Cure set since the mid-90's and I am so so so so excited to see them play the hits...especially this masterpiece...They better friggin' play it!!!!

Marnie - Wolves

Marnie's debut album "Crystal World" was my favourite album of 2013.  "Wolves" is her first music since and while it's definitely not as immediately striking as anything from the first album, it's still pretty good.  So glad she's had a quick turn-around with new tunes!!

Eternal Death - Fade

Eternal Death have only put out three songs thus far.  "Fade" is the third and my favorite so far!  Things are looking good for their debut album which is set for February 2015!  Thanks to Sister Sweet for posting this track because I certainly missed it!

Carried by Currents

It's always nice when you hear that someone out there is reading and enjoying your little music blog, and that happened just yesterday when I received an e-mail from long-time reader/listener Scott!
Scott is in a new band called Carried by Currents out of Chicago.  They've released 2 tracks so far and both are synth-loveliness.  "Surrounded" starts off as a slow-burner and builds into a late-night synth-club dance anthem..."Daylight" is straight up pop yumminess.  I look forward to more synth magic from them in the near future!!

Ooberman - First Day of the Holidays

Today is my birthday and today I am presenting my favorite song of all-time.  I will always remember the first time I heard this song, walking to work at dawn.  When the climax hit, I physically hopped in the air out of sheer joy.  This song has everything that I love.  It's full of emotion, it's full of pop, it has drama, the lyrics are fantastic, and the climax still sends me soaring after all these years...it really is perfection.
