Marnie - The Hunter

Helen Marnie, or Marnie for short, from Ladytron is releasing her debut album "Crystal World" next week and this is the first song she's giving to our ears for love long time!  Yeah, it's just like Ladytron and yeah, that is a great thing!

Non Tiq

Who is this?  It's Non Tiq!  I found her from random YouTube video suggestions (seems that's the way for me to go nowadays) and I love her !  Non Tiq is Swedish (yay!) and has only released two singles to date, "Quiet" (2010) and "Love Machine" (2012).  She might be releasing her debut album this year.  I sure hope so!

Princess Chelsea - The Cigarette Duet

So much love to Princess Chelsea for this awesome song/video!!  This video supposedly went viral upon its release, but I've never heard of it!  I found it through more YouTube suggestions (Yay!) and came to find out that this song is a duet with Jonathan Bree from The Brunettes (with whom P.C. used to play!).  Yes!
I have been listening to her debut album "Lil' Golden Book" (2011) and it is damn good!

Tobias Fröberg - When We Go to War

Here's one of the "older" videos I mentioned a few posts back that were coming.  I can't believe I didn't see this one originally because I absolutely love this song.  "When We Go to War" was the first song put out from Tobias Fröberg's 2010 album "The Big Up".  This is a fantastic video for a fantastic song!

Girls in Hawaii - Misses

So great to hear Girls in Hawaii are back!  They haven't released anything since their excellent 2008 album "Plan Your Escape".
The new EP "Misses" was released at the end of April.

Dillon - Thirteen Thirtyfive

Fell in love with this song and it's Lykke Li vibe immediately.  I heard a remix first (top) and quickly scurried over to hear the original (bottom), which is much different but just as swell.  Dillon's debut album "This Silence Kills" was released in 2011.

 

Marina and the Diamonds + Charli XCX - Just Desserts

I must admit I have been addicted to Charli XCX's new album "True Romance", listening to it every day at work for the last few weeks.  Upon looking her up today, I see that she's done a collaboration with like-minded/sounding inDIeVA Marina and the Diamonds!  I love it!  Both these divas are bringing it!

Magic Arm - Put Your Collar Up

Magic Arm is returning with his sophomore album "Images Rolling" next month!   "Put Your Collar Up" is the first taste he's given us and it sounds mighty fine indeed!!

Fractures - Twisted

Fractures is from Melbourne.  He has only released a couple singles so far.  "Twisted" is his second and it is absolutely lush and divine pop.  I believe he is working on a video for it now and promises new songs in the near future.  This track shows much promise!

Colette - When the Music's Loud

Heard this song on KCRW a couple nights ago and it made me happy.  Never heard of Colette but seems she's some sort of DJ living in good ol' Los Angeles.  I do quite dig this track.  It is being released on "Om Lounge, Vol. 13"!

Pikachunes - Cinnamon Pop Dream

Here's a new tune from the very cutely named Pikachunes!  He released his latest EP "Miles" early in the year and "Cinnamon Pop Dream" is the definite highlight!  "Your Touch" is also very nice and you can check that out here...CLICK ME

The Presets - Fall

This song was played "remixed" while we were waiting for IAMX to begin the other day.  It sounded great, and look, just a couple days later a video pops up!  "Fall" comes from The Presets excellent 3rd album "Pacifica".

Rainbow Chan - Skinny Dipping

Rainbow Chan is lovely and adorable.  Her latest single "Skinny Dipping" is awesome!  It will be released (or maybe it already has been) this year on a new EP!

Holy Ghost! - Dumb Disco Ideas

While it may be a bit long, can't help but shake it to the new Holy Ghost! single!!  They have an album called "Dynamics" due for release sometime soon (we hope!).  I get to see them live next Monday!  YES!!
And this video really makes me want to go to the mall and buy myself a few Cheese on a Sticks with a large lemonade!  YUM!

Tammie Brown - Love Piñata

I know this is "old" (2012) and I'm gonna be posting a few "older" videos in the coming week, but I just saw Tammie Brown perform this at Madonnalogues.  I've seen her do it a few times before and every time I see it, I absolutely love it!  This is one catchy tune!  Maybe it's all that repetition!  Hit me with your love stick!!

Maia Hirasawa - Lights Are Out

Maia Hirasawa's new album "What I Saw" came out on April 24th.  "Lights Are Out" is the first single from the album and it's a great introduction!

MS MR - Hurricane

MS MR are releasing their debut album "Secondhand Rapture" this week.  "Hurricane" is its opening track and here is it's very creepy / cool / wet video!  MS MR are also opening for CSS on their tour next month!  Exciting!!

SULK - Flowers

SULK used to be known as The Ruling Class and they released the excellent "Tour de Force" EP on Shelflife back in 2008!  Not sure what prompted the name change but they've revamped one of their original songs, "Flowers", that had me glowing 5 years ago and it sounds just as nice.
Their debut album "Graceless" was just released on April 15th!

Jay-Jay Johanson - Mr Fredrikson

Gotta love this new track from Jay-Jay Johanson!!  He will be releasing his new album "Cockroach" later this year (I've read September) and this first song/video is gorgeous!

Bloodgroup - Fall

I've been waiting for Bloodgroup to make a video from their latest and awesome release "Tracing Echoes" and voila, here it is!  "Fall" is one of the best tracks from the album and this video is fantastic!  Watch as the Queen teases her young minions with her key to the treasure (it's like an episode of Big Brother), and sends them straight to their doom!  How can you not love it!?

David Bowie - The Next Day

Here's one of my fave songs from David Bowie's great new album "The Next Day"!  This is also the best video of the three we've seen so far.  Best ending ever!  Praise Bowie!!!

Young Galaxy - Pretty Boy

Sadly I had not heard Young Galaxy before yesterday when Rockyboo brought them up.  After hearing just 10 seconds of "Pretty Boy" I was already hooked.  The video is a super cute ode to blind love and I love it!!
Their fourth album "Ultramarine" came out a couple weeks ago.  Check it out!

Neon Neon - Hammer & Sickle

Here's the first video from Neon Neon's new (and excellent) album, "Praxis Makes Perfect"!  The video plays out like an artsy retelling of Giangiacomo Feltrinelli's wiki!  If you read my first Neon Neon post about the new album, you'll remember, Praxis is based on the life of Feltrinelli.

Yes, LOVE!  New Janelle Monáe featuring the lovely Ms Badu!  Just caught an old episode of Jools Holland a couple nights ago with Janelle and she was so spectacular.  Invigorated my love, she did!
Her new album, "The Electric Lady", comes out sometime this year...they're saying fall!

Owl Eyes - Closure / Love Run Dry

I've just finished listening to Owl Eyes' debut album "Nightswim" and it is fantastic!   "Closure" is one of the tracks from the album and it is great pop!   "Love Run Dry" is an equally good bonus track!!

Selebrities - Temporary Touch

YAY for new Selebrities!  Their sophomore album "Lovely Things" will be released in June by Cascine!  YAY!!

Feathers - Land of the Innocent / Soft

Feathers opened for Little Boots last night.  I was excited when I first heard this news about a month ago because Feathers' debut album "If All Now Here" is an early 2013 favourite!!  Enjoy the videos for their lead-single and album opener, "Land of the Innocent" & album track #2 "Soft"...

IO Echo - Ministry of Love

Everyone really should head over to Noisey and watch IO Echo's interactive video for the title track off their debut album "Ministry of Love"!  It is pretty darn cool, if you ask me!  You get to do all sorts of wild stuff, editing the course of the video in real-time!  CLICK THIS LINK to see and try it yourself!!

The album is one of my early 2013 highlights and this video is easily one of the coolest I've seen in a long time!

The Smittens - First Bus (Unplugged)

Here's the always super-cute Smittens performing unplugged outside of their tent last year at the Island in the Sun festival in Finland!  "First Bus" is one of my fave tracks from the The Smittens' excellent 2012 album "Believe Me"!  Seeing this makes me love The Smittens even more!
